WHAT IS THE GUT?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The gut is our lower gastrointestinal tract which is made up of the small and large intestines. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our gut is a thriving ecosystem containing a large number of bacteria. Did you know the composition of our gut microbiome is unique to each individual?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our gut houses 70 percent of the cells that make up your immune system. It’s where your body draws nutrients or minerals present in your food which is vital for body function. So what you eat has a direct impact on your overall health and well-being.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The gut is so much more than a place for digesting food. Poor digestion can affect the functioning of every body system, from the brain, nervous system, energy levels, weight, hormonal balance, reproduction and the liver. It’s also intricately linked to the state of your hair and skin too.⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So invest in your wellbeing. We only have one body to carry us through life. Unlike a car we can’t get a new one.
